Rational Combi Oven Error Code Service 25: CleanJet Water Flow
Service 25 on a SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency means the water flow during a CleanJet cleaning program is not right, and the program stops. Take the cleaning tabs out of the cabinet, rinse the cabinet with the hand shower, open the water tap fully and look at the inlet screen. Let the cabinet cool first and keep the side panels on.
Low: cleaning stops, while cooking is usually unaffected and the manual gives operator steps.

What does Rational error code Service 25 mean?
During a CleanJet cleaning program, the oven expects a steady flow of water through the moistening valve and the spray nozzle. The CDS sensor checks that flow while the program runs. If the flow is too low or erratic, the control cannot trust that the cabinet is being rinsed properly, so the program stops and Service 25 is shown. The owner's manual lists operator steps for this message, which is unusual among the service numbers, and they are about the water and the cabinet rather than the machine's insides. The maker's list names water pressure and the supply valve at the oven, the inlet screen for debris, the moistening valve and spray nozzle for scale, and the CDS sensor reading during the program. The first two are things you can check yourself in a few minutes. The last two are the ones that build up slowly, and a nozzle partly blocked by scale reduces flow just enough to trip the check without any other sign. Cleaning tabs left in the cabinet can also disturb the program, which is why the manual starts by having you take them out.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to the Rational SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency family, per the Original operating instructions. Other generations use different cleaning systems and numbers.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Service 25 on the screen
- A cleaning program that stops partway
- Weak spray from the nozzle
- Residue left in the cabinet after cleaning
Possible causes
Listed in Rational's documentation
- Low water pressure or a partly closed supply valve at the oven
- Inlet screen blocked with debris
- Moistening valve or spray nozzle scaled
- CDS sensor reading during the program
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code Service 25 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Water tap turned down after plumbing work
- Mineral scale in the nozzle in hard water
- Cleaning tabs left in the cabinet from an earlier aborted cycle
Safe checks before calling for service
- Take the cleaning tabs out of the cooking cabinet and rinse the cabinet well with the hand shower, including behind the air baffle.
- Open the water tap fully and look at the inlet screen.
- Let the cabinet cool before reaching inside, and keep the side panels on.
- Restart the cleaning program once, and tell us if Service 25 returns.
How a technician diagnoses error code Service 25
- Read the message and note when in the program it stopped.
- Measure water pressure and flow at the inlet.
- Clean the inlet screen.
- Inspect the moistening valve and spray nozzle for scale and descale them.
- Check the CDS sensor signal during a cleaning run.
- Replace the failed part and complete a full cleaning program.
- Descaling the valve and nozzle means working with chemicals inside a hot cabinet.
- Measuring the CDS signal needs the oven running with panels off.
- A flow problem that is not scale needs a valve or sensor test on live wiring.
How error code Service 25 differs from similar codes
Service 25 is flow during CleanJet. Service 120 is a Care pump or electrode problem in the cleaning program.
