What does Speed Queen error code EC03 mean?
A card reader and a washer control speak a defined language, and each washer type and mode accepts only certain requests. EC03 means the reader asked for something that does not fit the machine, such as a command meant for a different type of washer or a different mode. The control and the reader are connected and answering, so cables are less likely than with the other EC codes. Customers cannot pay for a cycle, and the display holds the code instead of the price, even though the washer itself is fine. The manual lists the reader model against the washer type, the machine mode, and the cables and connectors. The classic cause is a reader that was moved or swapped between machines, for example from a frontload to a topload, so it now sends the wrong instructions. A machine whose mode was changed during programming can do the same. Telling us what was swapped or reprogrammed makes the visit faster.
