Speed Queen Washer Error Code EC11: Card Reader Not Ready
EC11 on a card-operated Quantum washer means the control can communicate with the reader, but the reader has not finished setting itself up. The reader looks alive yet will not take payment. Power the washer down and up again, give the reader a moment before presenting the card, and call us if EC11 returns.
Medium: customers cannot pay on this washer while the reader is not ready.

What does Speed Queen error code EC11 mean?
After power-up, a card reader runs through its own start-up before it can take cards. The control talks to it during that time and expects a finished set-up. EC11 means the link works, but the reader never completes its start-up, so it stays in a state where it cannot take payment. In a laundromat that means the display holds the code and customers cannot start a cycle, even though lights on the reader may look normal and the washer itself shows no other problem. The manual lists the reader start-up after power-up, the reader settings, the cable condition and the reader hardware. A restart gives the reader another chance to complete, which is why the owner's manual asks for one, and a short wait before presenting the card avoids catching it mid-start. If EC11 comes back after the restart, the settings stored in the reader, a poor cable connection or the reader itself needs a technician to test.
