XLT Pizza Oven Error Code Belt Jam: Conveyor Motor Speed Dropped
Belt Jam means the current motor speed is below 25% of the most recent minimum motor speed. The manual says to check for obstructions, then the drive chain and sprocket, then do a hard reset. If the error still exists, contact XLT.
High: the conveyor has nearly stopped and product can burn in the oven.

What does XLT Belt Jam mean?
The controller keeps track of the conveyor motor speed. When the speed falls below 25% of the most recent minimum motor speed, it shows Belt Jam on the LUI. The CONVEYOR LED flashes while the other LEDs operate normally, which tells you the rest of the oven is still running. This is a much deeper slowdown than Under Speed. The belt has nearly stopped, as it would if a pan wedged against something. The manual lists no causes but gives the actions in order: check for obstructions, then if none, check the drive chain and sprocket for proper working condition, then do a hard reset, and contact XLT if the error continues. Clearing a blockage is the one thing an operator can do safely, with the oven off and cool.
Affected models and control systems
XLT conveyor ovens, gas version H (Standard, World, Australia, Korea) with the LUI/OMC controller. The electric version H Parts & Service Manual XD 9007A prints the same table.

What you may notice
- Belt Jam alarm on the LUI display
- CONVEYOR LED flashing while other LEDs operate normally
- Belt stopped or barely moving
- Pizzas piling up at the entrance or exit
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind Belt Jam on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Pan or product wedged against the oven opening or stop
- Drive chain slipped, broken or seized
- Sprocket worn, loose or damaged
- Conveyor motor overloaded or failing
Safe checks before calling for service
- Switch off the oven and let it cool completely.
- Look in the conveyor path and at the oven ends for a wedged pan or any object blocking the belt.
- If nothing is blocking it, look at the drive chain and sprocket you can see without removing guards.
- Do the hard reset: unplug the oven for one minute, plug in and power on. If Belt Jam returns, contact XLT.
- Tell the technician what was blocking the belt, if anything, and what the chain looked like.
How a technician diagnoses Belt Jam
- Read the alarm and confirm the CONVEYOR LED pattern.
- Check the belt path for obstruction and the belt for damage.
- Inspect the drive chain tension and sprocket condition.
- Check the conveyor motor current and speed feedback.
- Repair the cause and run a timed pan to confirm normal speed.
- Moving belts and chains can pinch hands, and the oven chamber stays hot.
- Motor and drive checks are made on live 208-240 V circuits.
- Chain and sprocket replacement needs removal of guards and the correct parts.
How Belt Jam differs from similar codes
Under Speed flags a belt that is thirty seconds slow. Belt Jam flags a speed under 25% of the recent minimum, which means the belt has nearly stopped.

Is Belt Jam the same as Under Speed?
No. Under Speed is a belt that runs slow. Belt Jam is a belt that has nearly stopped.
Can I clear a jam myself?
Only with the oven off and cool. The manual lists checking for obstructions first.
Can I keep running with Belt Jam showing?
The belt has nearly stopped, so product may sit in the oven. Have it checked before the next bake.
