These are the older Anets millivolt gas fryers. Look for 14G, 14GS, MX-14EG or a version with a U on the data plate. They run without electricity, so the pilot and thermocouple power the control.
A pilot that drops out sends us to the flame itself, the thermocouple output and the gas pressure arriving at the fryer. The main burners depend on the thermostat and the gas valve, so a failure there leaves the pilot lit and the pot cold.
This is an older line still in service, and we repair it. Gas pressure at the fryer is part of our check. A supply that is too low keeps the main burners from lighting and is easy to overlook. Mention it when you book if the pilot has been going out.

No. They run on a millivolt system, which means the pilot flame supplies the power for the control. That also keeps them working through a power outage in the kitchen.
Why does the pilot go out on my 14GS?
A dirty pilot, low gas pressure or a weak thermocouple can all do it. Should you notice gas in the air, go outside and phone the utility. Otherwise call us and we test each cause.
