The HF is the Beverage-Air top-mount reach-in freezer, with plate numbers such as HF1HC-1G, HF1HC-1HG and HF1HC-1HS. Thirteen numbers are listed. The compressor and condenser sit above the freezer space.
A freezer shows trouble as frost. We look at the door seals first, since humid air freezes on the coil, then the defrost, the fans and the condenser at the top, which collects lint. The Danfoss control shows dEF while it defrosts, and a defrost that never ends is something we check.
Current cabinets use R290, so only a technician should open the sealed system. Tell us the plate number and we confirm the parts. We confirm the plate number, and we judge a warm freezer by the food, not the display, since the display can lag behind the real temperature.

A leaking gasket lets humid air in, and it freezes on the coil. A defrost that is not completing adds to it. A new gasket often ends it.
Is dEF normal on a freezer?
Yes, it shows while the freezer defrosts. If it stays on for hours, the defrost is not ending and we check it. We time a full cycle to see.
What should I do if the freezer is warm?
Check food temperature, move what you must to another freezer and call us. Do not chip ice from the coil. Do not chip ice from the coil, since a puncture means a costly refrigerant repair, and tell us how long it has been warm.
