- Compressor short-cycling
The UCF is the Beverage-Air undercounter freezer, with 18 numbers such as UCF20HC, UCF20HC-25-15 and UCF24AHC. It sits under a counter and breathes through the front grille. The Danfoss control on the UCF27HC can show Con, the condenser alarm.
A boxed-in freezer builds heat quickly, so we check clearance and clean the condenser first. Con means the condenser is too hot or too cold, and a dirty coil or a stalled fan is the usual reason. Then we check the gaskets, the defrost and the sensors.
If your freezer sits in a tight spot, tell us how it is installed. Boxes and mops stored against the grille shorten the life of the compressor, so we also talk about clearance. We also check the level of the unit.

The condenser temperature is outside its range. A dirty coil or a stopped fan is common, and a sensor can read wrong. Photograph the display for us.
Why does my UCF cycle quickly?
Start parts, low voltage or a dirty condenser can cause it. We test each. A tired start part, low voltage or a dirty condenser can each cause it, so we test each in turn before we decide on a repair.
Can I put the freezer against a wall?
It needs air space. Too little raises condenser temperature. We advise clearances for your model. A few inches of clear space at the front and sides lets the unit breathe, and we advise on what your model needs when we see the installation.
