Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Strainers clogged by heavy soil
  2. Machine not filling or low water
  3. Wash pump problems
  4. Heater not heating
  5. Door or switch problems

Douglas also lists rack, pan and utensil washers such as the 1536-B, 1536-SPW-9, BW-1000, STW-2000, BDW-1 and UTM-10. The data plate on your machine shows the exact model, and that is what we use to confirm parts before a visit.

On any Douglas washer, the maker asks that float switches and level probes be cleaned every day, and that the machine not sit idle for more than four hours with water in the tank, since evaporation can damage it. When a machine will not fill or says low water, we start with those probes, then the fill valve, the drain valve and the pump.

Tell us the model from the plate and what the machine did. Before any work you have the price in writing, and afterward a 30-day workmanship warranty.

FAQDouglas 1536-B, BW-1000, STW-2000 and Related Utensil Washers questions
Do you repair Douglas machines that are not door-type?

Yes. We repair Douglas rack, pan and utensil washers. Tell us the model from the plate and what the machine does, and we confirm parts before the visit.

Why does the maker say not to leave water in the tank?

Leaving the machine idle for more than four hours with water in the tank lets evaporation damage it. Drain it if it will sit. If the machine will sit for a break, empty it first.

My washer says low water but the tank looks full. Why?

A dirty level probe is the usual cause. Clean it with the machine off and cool, and call us if the message stays. Tell us what the display shows.
