- PT56
Repairs this series usually needs
- Rinse below 180F
- Burner not lighting
- Scale in the tank slowing recovery
- Gas pressure outside the range
- Control or ignition problems
The PT56 is Hubbell’s ventless gas booster for door-type dishmachines. It takes in 55,000 Btu an hour and puts out 44,000, uses VariFlame technology with no standing pilot and runs on natural gas or propane, with a 115 volt supply. The data plate reads PT56.
When the rinse falls short, we check the gas supply and pressure, the ignition and the burner, then scale in the tank. The maker lists a natural gas inlet of 7.0 to 10.5 inches of water column and propane at 11 to 14. Hard water leaves scale that slows recovery.
A gas odor means everyone steps outside first and phones the gas utility from there. Switch the booster off at the breaker before anyone looks at it. No work starts until you have approved the cost.

Step outside right away and phone the gas utility from there. Do not switch anything on or off. Call us after the utility says it is safe.
What does no standing pilot mean?
The burner lights only when heat is needed, using the VariFlame system. If it will not light, we test the ignition and the gas supply.
Do you repair gas boosters?
