The HB, HC and HD undercounters are the 24-inch bar refrigerators you find under bar counters, with the HC 48-inch for wider spaces. Models include the HB24RS, HB24WS, HC24RS, HC24FS, HC48WS and HD24RS4. A digital LED controller shows set point, alarm and defrost lights.
These units use R600a, a flammable refrigerant, so sealed system work is for trained technicians. The chiller models defrost automatically every four hours, and the freezer version has a manual six-hour defrost.
Heat output is rated at 75 F ambient, which a bar can exceed. We check the condenser and louvers, the door and switch, and the probes, then the sealed system. Bar staff can tell us which alarm they see and when it started.

What does AH1 mean?
AH1 is the high temperature alarm. The compartment is warmer than usual, from a door left open, warm product loaded in or a dirty condenser.
Why does it use R600a?
R600a is isobutane, an efficient refrigerant that is flammable. It is the reason the maker limits sealed system service to trained technicians only, so please do not open the cabinet.
How do I silence the alarm?
Press and release any key on the controller. The alarm LED flashes to show the alarm was acknowledged, but the condition remains until it is fixed.
