Polar King builds one-piece fiberglass walk-ins for outdoor use. The condensing unit and the electrical control panel sit on top of the box, which means full sun on the refrigeration parts. The manual lists condensing units such as FJAF-A056 and DJAL-020Z, and evaporators such as LCA6-90 and MLT6-260, rather than whole-box numbers.
The maker’s annual maintenance list is where we start: clean the condenser, check the charge, clean the drain line and evaporator, oil the motors, check the cut-in and cut-out pressures, and check the defrost. The allowable voltage at the compressor is 207 to 253 volts on single-phase 230.
The maker says not to set a cooler below 32F. Older units get the same careful work, with an honest verdict when a repair would not pay.

Why does the rooftop condensing unit matter?
It sits in the sun on top of the box, so heat and dirt on the coil reduce its ability to shed heat. Regular cleaning keeps the box cold.
What should the A421 show?
The maker says the snowflake must show on the A421 display, and the OFF setting must be lower than the ON setting. If either is wrong, the box will not cool as set.
