This group covers Scotsman machines outside the Prodigy line: the CU undercounter cubers, the Meridian HID ice maker-dispensers, the MDT flakers, and older FME and NME cubers. Model numbers include CU0415, CU0920, HID312, HID540, MDT3F, MDT5N40, FME1204 and FME2404.
Controls differ by model, so the first step is a good look at the data plate and the lights or display. Undercounter units are tight on airflow, dispensers add a chute and sensor to the list of things that can stick, and the older FME machines have aging controls.

My dispenser stopped dispensing. What do you check?
First the chute, then the dispense sensor or switch, and whether ice is in the bin at all. After that we move on to the water supply and the cooling side.
Is an older FME worth repairing?
Sometimes. Water and scale problems are inexpensive to fix. If the board or the sealed system is the cause, we weigh the cost against the value of the machine.
