Eversys Coffee Machine Error Code S-020: Brewing Unit Failure
S-020 means the brewing unit is blocked and cannot move, so coffee products are stopped. Empty the grounds drawer if it is nearly full and restart once. If S-020 returns, do not reach into the brewing area, leave the machine off and call us.

What does Eversys error code S-020 mean?
The brewing unit is the moving heart of the machine. A motor drives it between its filling, pressing and ejecting positions, and position sensing confirms each move. When the unit meets resistance and cannot reach the position the control expects, it stops and displays S-020, brewing unit failure. Coffee products are then unavailable. The most common cause is a jam from compacted grounds, sometimes made worse by a grounds drawer that has filled up. The unit motor or its supply can also be the reason, and so can the position sensing, which may report that a unit has not moved even when it has. From the front these look the same, so the display cannot say which one it is. The owner's guide tells operators to inspect the brewing unit, and that work is ours, because the unit has moving parts and sits behind guarded panels. Pushing the machine to try again can force grounds into the mechanism or overload the motor. A technician frees the unit, then tests the motor and the sensing before deciding what to replace. The display shows S-020.
