Beverage-Air Refrigerator Error Code dOr: Door Open Alarm
DOr on a Beverage-Air cabinet with a Danfoss controller tells you the door has been open longer than the alarm delay. Close the door firmly, look for anything keeping it from seating, and check the gasket. If the message does not change after closing the door, call us, because the door switch may not be registering.
Low: a door prompt that clears when the door closes, with no sign of a cooling failure.

What does Beverage-Air error code DOr mean?
The Danfoss controller keeps track of how long the door stays open, and the delay is there so a quick delivery does not trigger an alarm. If the door stays open past that delay, dOr appears. The remedy is the obvious one: close the door and the message should go away. If it does not change after the door is closed, the controller still believes the door is open. Either the door is not seating, because of a worn or folded gasket, hardware out of line, or a pan wedged against the edge, or the door switch is not registering the closed door. The manual's list covers the gasket, a switch stuck or out of position, hinges or hardware out of line, and a pan wedged against the door edge. A door left ajar costs cold air and makes the compressor work harder, so even if the alarm is the only effect, it is worth sorting out. The message is a prompt about the door, not a reading of temperature.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to Beverage-Air cabinets with a Danfoss controller, including current R290 models such as the UCR27AHC undercounter, the WTR48AHC worktop and the HR2HC-1S Horizon reach-in, and the matching freezers, prep tables and bar coolers. Eliwell-controlled cabinets use different codes.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- DOr shows after the door is left open
- dOr stays on after the door is shut
- The door rests ajar against the gasket
- Warm air or condensation at the door edge
Possible causes
Listed in Beverage-Air's documentation
- A worn gasket that keeps the Beverage-Air door from sealing
- A door switch stuck or out of position on the Danfoss control
- A hinge or door hardware out of line, so the door rests ajar
- A pan wedged against the Beverage-Air door edge
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code DOr on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A gasket folded inward at one corner so the door rests a fraction open
- A door that has dropped on its hinges after years of heavy use, so the switch magnet misses
- A shelf pan that slid forward and presses against the door edge
Safe checks before calling for service
- Close the door firmly.
- Look for anything keeping it from seating.
- Check the gasket for gaps or folds.
- Wait a minute to see if dOr clears.
- If the message does not change, note how the door sits and call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code DOr
- Read the display and confirm the door closes fully.
- Inspect the gasket and the hinge alignment.
- Test the door switch with a meter as the door opens and closes.
- Check the switch wiring and the delay setting.
- Check the control input follows the switch.
- Replace the gasket, hinge parts or switch as the test shows.
- The door switch and its wiring are inside the cabinet frame and need a meter to test.
- Hinge alignment decides whether the gasket seals.
- A door that never seals wastes cold air and loads the compressor.
How error code DOr differs from similar codes
OPd is the matching door message on Eliwell controllers, and the Danfoss dOr is the one on this page.
