Beverage-Air Models We Work On

Beverage-Air cabinets are everywhere: restaurant lines, bars, school cafeterias. We service Horizon HR top-mount and RB and HBR bottom-mount reach-ins, HF and FB freezers, WTR and UCR worktop and undercounter refrigerators, WTF and UCF freezers, pass-thru and roll-in models, DP and DPD chef bases and pizza tables, SPE sandwich tables, BB back bar coolers, DD direct draw dispensers and DW deep well bottle coolers.

Controllers depend on the build. Most cabinets use an electronic controller from one of two suppliers, and a few worktops and undercounters use a mechanical one. We match the control before ordering a part.

Reading the Alarm Codes

Newer cabinets use hydrocarbon R290 refrigerant, and only a technician should open the sealed system. The controller reports trouble with codes. AH1 or Hi means high temperature from open doors, warm product or a dirty condenser. dOr or OPd points to a door that is not closing. LEA means the compressor has been running too long, which can mean a heavy load or low refrigerant. E01 to E04 are sensor errors.

Humid coastal air in Miami and Houston and hot dry back kitchens in Los Angeles and San Diego both test the condenser, so a quarterly cleaning is a sensible habit. We check the coil, gaskets, drain pan and sensors in that order. On older non-HC Beverage-Air cabinets we tell you straight whether the repair is worth doing, and our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

FAQBeverage-Air questions
What does the LEA alarm mean on a Beverage-Air cabinet?

LEA means the compressor has been running too long. A heavy load, a dirty condenser or lost refrigerant can cause it. We check airflow and the sealed system.

Do you repair older Beverage-Air cabinets without the HC ending?

Yes. Older Beverage-Air cabinets are still in service and we repair them. We also tell you plainly when a repair costs more than it is worth.

Why does my Beverage-Air show dOr with the door closed?

The door gasket, hinge or switch is the likely cause. A door that sits slightly open keeps the alarm on, so we test the switch and the seal.

How often should a Beverage-Air condenser be cleaned?

Every three months is a good habit, and kitchens with heavy grease need it more often. Turn the cabinet off before cleaning, or let us do it during a service visit.
