Eversys Coffee Machine Error Code S-100: Steam Boiler Is Heating
S-100 reads Steam boiler is heating: the pressure is below 0.8 bar, so steam is not ready. It is a waiting message and the owner's guide says to wait. If it never goes away, call us and mention E-104 if that appears.
Low: a normal waiting message that only becomes a concern if it never clears.

What does Eversys error code S-100 mean?
After start-up or heavy steam use, the pressure in the steam boiler drops below what the control considers ready. The control measures this against a threshold of 0.8 bar. While the pressure is under that number it holds steam back and shows Steam boiler is heating, written on the display as S-100. This is a normal waiting state, not a breakdown, and the manual's instruction is simply to wait. The message clears by itself as pressure builds. Where it becomes a concern is when it does not go away. A boiler that cannot build pressure may have a heater that is not switching, a pressure sensor reading low, or a low water level in the boiler. If the climb takes too long the control raises the timeout message E-104 instead. That is why this message and E-104 belong together: S-100 is the patient version, and E-104 is the point at which the control gives up waiting. Operators can help by checking the tap is open and keeping clear of the steam wand. A technician is needed only when S-100 stays long after normal heat-up. The display text is S-100.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to the Eversys Cameo with S-xxx stop messages. A heat-up that takes too long ends in E-104 on the same machine.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Steam wand has no steam yet
- Message appears after start-up or a busy period
- Pressure reading climbs slowly
- Message stays much longer than usual
Possible causes
Listed in Eversys's documentation
- Steam boiler still building pressure normally after start-up or heavy use
- Heater not switching on
- Pressure sensor reading low
- Water level in the steam boiler too low
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code S-100 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A heater that switches only part of the time after a long busy spell
- A water tap that was turned down, slowing the refill after heavy steam use
Safe checks before calling for service
- Wait while the boiler heats. The message clears when pressure builds.
- Look at the water tap and confirm it is open.
- Keep hands and cloths away from the steam wand.
- If S-100 stays for a long time, call us and mention E-104 if it appears. Note how long you waited.
How a technician diagnoses error code S-100
- Note how long the machine has been heating and what the normal climb time is.
- Check water supply and boiler fill level.
- Read pressure on a gauge against the control's reading.
- Test the heater element and its switching.
- Look at the message history for E-104.
- Replace the sensor or heater element only after it fails the test.
- A message that never clears means a heater, pressure sensor or water level problem inside a hot, pressurized boiler.
- Checking the heater means working near mains-powered wiring.
- Comparing real pressure with the reading needs a test gauge.

How long should I wait with S-100?
Until pressure builds, which is usually a normal heat-up time. If it takes far longer than usual, E-104 may follow.
Is S-100 the same as E-104?
No. S-100 is a waiting message. E-104 is the timeout when the boiler did not reach pressure in time.
Can I use hot water while S-100 shows?
It may be limited. It is fine to wait and try again when the message clears.
