Cissell OPL Dryer Error Code EI0F: Invalid Wake-Up or Infrared Off
EI0F reports an invalid wake-up or an infrared link that is switched off, so the control did not start an infrared exchange. The dryer still dries. Switch the dryer off at the disconnect, wait a minute, switch it back on, and note which device was in use.
Low: the infrared link is unavailable; drying is not affected.
What does Cissell error code EI0F mean?
An infrared exchange with a Cissell OPL dryer such as the CT030N starts with a wake-up signal, a short opening message that tells the control to listen. The control only responds if the infrared feature is turned on in its setup and the wake-up signal is correct. If the feature is disabled, or the wake-up arrives in a form the control does not accept, the control shows EI0F. Staff see the message only when they try to use the infrared link, since nothing else in the dryer depends on it. The drum and heat work as usual. The difference from the other infrared codes is that nothing was exchanged at all. The things to look at are whether the infrared feature is enabled in the control, the wake-up signal from the device, the setup values in the control, and the receiver and wiring. If the feature was disabled on purpose, the code is the dryer doing what it was set up to do.
Affected models and control systems
This page covers the Cissell OPL electronic control tumble dryers, 25 to 35 lb C-prefix models such as the CT030N.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- EI0F appears when you try to use the infrared link
- No exchange with the dryer starts
- Heat and drum work as normal
Possible causes
Listed in Cissell's documentation
- The infrared feature disabled in the control
- An invalid wake-up signal from the device
- Wrong control setup values
- A failing receiver or damaged wiring
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code EI0F on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- An infrared option that was turned off during setup and never switched back on
- A device that sends a wake-up for another product that the dryer does not recognize
- Setup values on the control that were reset to factory values after a power loss or a control change
Safe checks before calling for service
- Switch the dryer off at the disconnect, wait a minute and switch it back on.
- Note which device or tool was in use with the dryer when EI0F appeared.
- Clean the lint screen so the dryer is ready for normal use.
- If EI0F shows again, leave it and call us. Tell us whether anyone has changed the dryer's settings.
How a technician diagnoses error code EI0F
- Read the code and ask whether the infrared feature has ever worked on this dryer.
- Check the control setup to see if infrared is enabled.
- Try a second device with a known good wake-up.
- Check the receiver and wiring to the control.
- Replace the control only after the setup is confirmed and the receiver still fails.
- The infrared setting lives inside the control's programming, which an operator should not change.
- Changing setup values without knowing the originals can alter how the dryer behaves.
- The message does not affect drying, so the visit can wait.
How error code EI0F differs from similar codes
Other EI codes mean an exchange started and went wrong. EI0F means it did not start, because the wake-up was invalid or the feature is off.

Does EI0F mean the infrared link is broken?
Not necessarily. The feature may simply be switched off in the control.
Will resetting power turn it on?
Not if it was disabled in setup. A technician can check the setting.
