Electrolux Washer Extractor Error Code 06: Water in Machine
Error code 06 means that when the program was moved quickly to its end, the level system did not report an empty drum within about 3 minutes. Check that the drain is not blocked and that detergent is not being overdosed. If it keeps coming back, a technician should check the level hose and level control.
Medium: the cycle cannot finish and water may stay in the drum, but the cause is usually drainage or the level reading.

What does Electrolux Professional error code 06 mean?
At the end of a program, or when the program is advanced rapidly to its end, the CPU board expects the drum to be empty. It waits about 3 minutes for the level system to say so. If water is still reported in the drum after that, the board shows ERROR 006 / WATER IN MACHINE and holds the program rather than carry on with a drum that may still hold water. The check is only as good as the level system, so the cause is either water that really cannot leave, such as a blocked drain, or a level reading that does not fall, such as a hose with a water drop in it. Heavy foam from too much detergent can also keep the level reading high. The manual lists these checks without a fixed cause.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to the W465H-W4300H, W475S-W4330S and W475N-W4330N washer-extractors, Type W3..., with the Compass Control. The manual gives no separate cause list for this code.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.

Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code 06 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Drain line or drain valve partly blocked with lint or debris
- Level hose blocked or holding a drop of water that keeps the pressure reading high
- Excess detergent producing foam that registers as water
- Drain shared with other machines that back up when they empty together
Safe checks before calling for service
- Look at the drain area and make sure nothing is blocking the outlet or the drain line.
- Check the amount of detergent used in recent loads and reduce it if it seems high.
- Wait a few minutes and see whether the water drains and the message clears.
- If it recurs, write down the program, the load and whether the drum was foamy, then call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code 06
- Read the code and ask which program step led to it.
- Check the drain installation and drain valve for dirt and restriction.
- Blow through the level hose to clear blockages or water drops.
- Check the level control in the service program, with the machine's own data.
- Review the detergent dosing and look for shared drain back-up.
- Level checks in the service program require entering the machine's own menu and reading its values.
- The level hose and the pressure switch connect to the control board and must be tested with covers open.
- Drain problems may sit in the building plumbing and require the right tools to find.
How error code 06 differs from similar codes
Code 06 is raised at the end of a program when the drum still holds water; code 10 is raised after a drain period.

Related Electrolux Professional industrial laundry error codes
Why did the machine stop at the end?
It could not confirm the drum was empty within about 3 minutes, so it held the program.
Can too much soap cause this?
Yes. The manual lists detergent overdosing as something to check, because foam can keep the level reading high.
Is there water to remove by hand?
Do not open the door while the drum holds water. Use the machine's drain routine or call us.
