The 20 numbers here, such as CA120L, CT170N and CU170T, are Cissell’s large tumble dryers in the 120 and 170 pound sizes. They use gas or steam heat, and an On Premise Micro control runs them. The digits give the size, and the data plate carries the full number.
A dryer this size moves a great deal of air, so a limit trip usually means a venting restriction: lint in the duct, a crushed section or a stuck hood. We check the exhaust first, then the limits and the airflow switch. Thermistor errors lead us to the sensor, and fan motor errors lead us to the contactor and the centrifugal switch.

Why does my large dryer trip a limit?
Most often the exhaust is restricted. We check the duct, the hood and the lint screens before testing the limit, because a limit that trips on poor venting is doing the job it was built to do.
Do you service steam-heated Cissell dryers?
Yes. We check the steam supply and valve on steam models and the ignition on gas models. Both versions need a clear exhaust, so that gets checked on every visit as well.
What does the airflow message mean?
The control saw weak airflow and shut the burner off. We clear the lint and check the exhaust, then the switch, before replacing any parts.
