The IPD dryers come in four numbers: IPD120G2, IPD120S2, IPD170G2 and IPD170S2. The first digits give the size, 120 or 170 pounds, and G2 or S2 at the end shows gas or steam heat. The data plate carries the number.
The On Premise Micro control watches a thermistor and an airflow switch. A poor airflow message shuts the burner off, so we check lint screens, the duct and the exhaust hood before the switch. OP and SH messages point to the thermistor circuit. On a steam dryer we check the steam supply and valve, and on a gas dryer we close the gas shut-off before any service.

What do G2 and S2 mean in IPD120G2?
G2 marks the gas-heated version and S2 marks the steam-heated version. The size is the 120 or 170 before it, in pounds, and the data plate shows the complete number.
Why does the burner shut off by itself?
The control may have seen low airflow. We clear and check the lint screen, the duct and the hood first, then the airflow switch, before replacing any part.
Do you repair steam dryers as well as gas?
Yes. On a steam dryer we check the steam supply and valve, and on a gas dryer we check ignition. Both need a clear exhaust, so we look at the lint screen and the duct on every visit.
