Follett Models and Their Warning Lights

Follett makes Chewblet ice, a soft, chewable ice, and we repair the machines that produce it. That includes the Horizon Elite 710, the 1010 and 1410 series, the remote-condensing 1412, 1810 and 2110 machines, and the original Horizon 700, 1000, 1400 and 1650 series. We also work on Symphony and Maestro units, undercounter models among them. Follett documents its machines by serial number range, so we always match the serial number before ordering parts.

Three lights on the Horizon Elite board are worth knowing. LO WATER means too little water is arriving from the supply, the filter or the solenoid. HI AMPS means the auger motor is working too hard, often from scale, a frozen evaporator or a slow drain. HI PRESSURE points to a room over 100 degrees F or a dirty condenser, our most common summer call, especially in Miami and Houston.

How We Work Through It

We check the water filter, supply, drain and leak sensor first, then the condenser and auger. After a shutdown from overload, Follett says to wait five minutes before restarting so the compressor equalizes and the evaporator thaws, and we follow the same rule. A time delay with a bin that is not full usually means ice is jamming in the transport tube.

Older original Horizon machines can still be repaired when parts support it. Your written price comes before the work, and our workmanship carries a 30-day warranty.

FAQFollett questions
What does HI AMPS mean on my Follett ice machine?

HI AMPS means the auger motor drew too much current. Poor water quality, a frozen evaporator or a slow drain are the usual reasons. We check those and the auger before the machine goes back into service.

Why is my Follett showing HI PRESSURE in summer?

HI PRESSURE usually follows a room over 100 degrees F or a dirty condenser. Cleaning the condenser and improving airflow often solves it. If it returns, we test the fan and refrigeration side.

Do you need my serial number for a Follett?

Yes, it helps a lot. Follett organizes its machines by serial number range, so the serial tells us the correct board and parts. Have it ready when you call.
