Common Franke problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Error message on the touch screen
Machine needs a restart
Refill milk message keeps showing
Internal water tank almost empty message
Coffee tastes stale or oily
Grinder or brewing unit problem
Franke Models We Service
The Franke machines we repair are fully automatic bean-to-cup machines with a touch operator panel. The A-series runs from the A200 and A400 up to the A600, A800 and A1000. The A600 is also known as the FCS4043 and the A1000 as the FCS4050, so either name on the data plate helps us. We also work on the Spectra super-automatic.
Franke machines do not show numbered error codes. Errors appear as text on the screen, with a color that tells you how serious the message is, in four levels. So we begin with the words and the color, then work through the water supply, milk system, grinder and brewing unit. Messages such as Refill Milk and internal water tank almost empty are for the operator, and they clear once the container is filled.
Owner Steps and Our Checks
A machine that shows an error and asks for a restart should be powered off for one minute and switched on again, as the owner’s manual says. If the message returns, we take over. Stale or oily-tasting coffee is often a hopper problem. The manual asks that the oil film in the bean hopper be wiped with a dry or water-moist cloth, with no cleaners, and that the hopper hold only the beans needed for the next three hours.
On the visit we test the grinder, brewing unit, pump and milk system, and check the water filter and supply. Scale in boilers and lines is a regular finding where the water is hard. We say plainly when an older machine is not worth the repair. You get a written price before work begins, and the repair carries a 30-day warranty.
Franke codes and alarms
What the display or the blinking light means, what is safe to check, and when to stop and call us.
Franke lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
Does my Franke show error codes?
No. Franke machines show text messages with a color for severity, not numbered codes. Tell us the exact words and the color, and we plan the repair around them.
Why does my Franke coffee taste stale?
An oil film in the bean hopper is a common reason. Wipe it with a dry or water-moist cloth, no cleaners, and load only the beans for the next three hours. If the taste stays off, we check the grinder.
Can you repair the Franke A600 and A1000?
Yes. We service the A200 through A1000 and the Spectra. The FCS4043 and FCS4050 names on the data plate tell us which A-series machine you have.
