Hoshizaki Commercial Refrigerator Repair
We repair Hoshizaki Steelheart A-Series reach-in refrigerators and freezers in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, along with the prep tables and undercounters in the same family. The digital controller alarms, condenser, filter and door seals come first.
Common Hoshizaki reach-in refrigerators problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Cabinet too warm with Hi alarm
Freezing product with Lo alarm
Door alarm showing dor
E01 or E02 on the display
Frost building on the evaporator
Steelheart A-Series reach-ins, such as the R1A, R2A and R3A refrigerators and the F1A, F2A and F3A freezers, use a solid-state digital controller with an LED display and temperature alarms. The Hi alarm sounds when a refrigerator stays above 57 degrees F, or a freezer above 26 degrees F, for more than two hours. The Lo alarm works the same way at the cold end. A dor message means a door has stood open over two minutes or the door switch is not reading.
E01 points to the cabinet thermistor and E02 to the defrost thermistor, and in both cases the unit cycles on a timer until the sensor is sorted out. Pressing the up button silences the alarm but does not fix the cause. We start with the condenser, air filter, door gaskets and defrost operation, then test the sensors and the compressor overload.
These units use R290, a flammable refrigerant, so we take care with anything that touches the sealed system. We also service the family’s prep tables with a raised rail, equipment stands, B-series undercounters and S-series uprights. The price is written down before we start, and our work carries a 30-day warranty.

The display on my Hoshizaki reach-in shows Hi. Is my food safe?
The Hi alarm means the cabinet stayed warm for more than two hours. Close the doors, clean the filter and condenser, and check the product temperature before serving it. If the alarm returns, call us.
What do E01 and E02 mean on a Steelheart refrigerator?
E01 is the cabinet thermistor alarm and E02 is the defrost thermistor alarm. The unit keeps cooling on a timer, but temperature control suffers. We test the sensor and its wiring before replacing parts.
Why does my reach-in keep beeping about the door?
The dor alarm sounds when a door stays open more than two minutes, or when the door switch is not reading correctly. If the doors close fully and it still beeps, we check the switch and gasket.
