Jackson Glasswasher Error Code F3: No Water in Wash Tank

F3 on a Jackson Delta HT-E-SEER glasswasher means the wash tank is not filling, which can be caused by an open door or a fill part. Close the door properly first. If F3 stays, the fill solenoid, fill relay or door switch needs a technician.

Medium · inspection needed

Medium: the machine will not fill, but a closed door often resolves it.

What does Jackson error code F3 mean?

A glasswasher starts every cycle by filling the wash tank, and it will not do so while the door is open. When the tank is not filling, the screen reads "F3 No water in wash tank" with "Check inlet water and door". The manual gives three causes: a fill solenoid or fill relay that is malfunctioning, a door that is open and inhibiting fill mode, or a failed door switch. The first thing to look at in a bar is the door itself. Glass racks are tall, and a rack set slightly crooked can hold the door a few millimeters off its seat so the switch never closes. The manual's actions are to replace the failed part, close the door to activate the door switch, and replace or adjust the door switch. F3 and F8 carry the same screen text, and the manual lists both as separate entries.

What you may notice

  • Display reads F3 No water in wash tank, Check inlet water and door
  • No sound of water filling after the door is closed
  • Cycle waits at the start

Possible causes

Listed in Jackson's documentation

  • Fill solenoid or fill relay malfunctioning
  • Door open, which inhibits fill mode
  • Door switch failed

Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code F3 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.

  • A tall glass rack that sits crooked and keeps the door from latching
  • A door switch actuator that has shifted after repeated hard closes
  • A fill valve screen partly blocked by mineral deposits

Safe checks before calling for service

✓ What an operator can do
  1. Remove the rack, reseat it flat, and close the door with a firm push.
  2. Confirm the water supply valve to the machine is open.
  3. Restart and listen for the fill valve and the sound of water.
  4. Note whether the door seemed to close fully and what was loaded when F3 appeared.

How a technician diagnoses error code F3

  1. Confirm F3 and that the door closes onto its switch.
  2. Watch the fill solenoid when the door is closed and see whether water enters.
  3. Verify voltage from the fill relay to the fill solenoid; replace the failed part.
  4. Test the door switch with a meter as the door moves; replace or adjust it if needed.
  5. Run a full fill and wash cycle to confirm the code clears.
! Leave this to a technician
  • Voltage tests on the fill relay and solenoid are done with the cabinet open and power on.
  • The door switch is inside the frame, and adjusting it needs disassembly.
  • Water near a live control cabinet calls for a technician's care.

How error code F3 differs from similar codes

F3 has the same screen text as F8. The manual lists them separately without saying how they differ.

F3Questions about Jackson error code F3
Why does a crooked rack matter?

If it holds the door open even slightly, the door switch may not close, and the manual says an open door inhibits fill mode.

Will F3 clear on its own?

It should if the door was the only cause and the tank then fills.

Is the glasswasher F3 the same as the dishmachine F3?

The causes and actions are identical in the two manuals.
