Jackson Glasswasher Error Code F8: No Water in Wash Tank, Check Door

F8 on a Jackson Delta HT-E-SEER glasswasher means the wash tank is not filling, which can be caused by an open door or a fill part. Close the door fully and check that no rack is holding it. If F8 stays, the solenoid, fill relay or door switch needs a technician.

Medium · inspection needed

Medium: the machine will not fill, but a closed door often resolves it.

What does Jackson error code F8 mean?

F8 is reported when the wash tank is not filling and the machine shows "F8 No water in wash tank" with "Check inlet water and door". The manual's causes are a fill solenoid or fill relay that is malfunctioning, a door that is open and inhibiting fill mode, or a failed door switch. The actions are to replace the failed solenoid or fill relay, close the door to activate the door switch, and replace or adjust the door switch. The wording is identical to F3 on screen, and the manual keeps the two as separate rows. The difference we can see is only in the action text: F8 names the solenoid and fill relay, where F3 says to replace the failed part. Because the manual does not explain the split, a technician treats F3 and F8 alike and reads whichever one appears. On a glasswasher, the door is lifted and closed all day, so the door switch sees a great deal of use.

What you may notice

  • Display reads F8 No water in wash tank, Check inlet water and door
  • Tank not filling
  • Machine waits and does not wash

Possible causes

Listed in Jackson's documentation

  • Fill solenoid or fill relay malfunctioning
  • Door open, which inhibits fill mode
  • Door switch failed

Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code F8 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.

  • A door switch worn by constant opening and closing during service rushes
  • A solenoid whose coil no longer opens the valve fully
  • A bent door hinge that keeps the door slightly ajar

Safe checks before calling for service

✓ What an operator can do
  1. Close the door firmly and check that the rack sits flat and nothing sticks out.
  2. Make sure the water supply valve is open.
  3. Restart and listen for water entering.
  4. If F8 stays, note whether the door feels loose or sits unevenly on its seal.

How a technician diagnoses error code F8

  1. Confirm F8 and that the door closes against its switch.
  2. Check whether the solenoid receives voltage from the fill relay with the door closed.
  3. Replace the failed solenoid or fill relay.
  4. Test the door switch with a meter and replace or adjust it if it does not change state.
  5. Run a full fill and wash to confirm F8 clears.
! Leave this to a technician
  • Voltage tests on the solenoid and relay are made with the cabinet open and live.
  • The door switch is inside the frame and takes disassembly to adjust.
  • A wrongly adjusted switch can let the machine run with the door ajar.

How error code F8 differs from similar codes

F8 repeats the screen text of F3. F6 is a different code: no water confirmation for the wash heater.

F8Questions about Jackson error code F8
Is F8 different from F3?

The screen text is the same. The manual lists them as separate entries without explaining the difference.

Could a worn hinge cause F8?

The manual does not say so, but an open door is its named cause, and a door that does not seat can behave like one.

What if closing the door does nothing?

Then the fill parts or the door switch are next, and a technician should test them.
