XLT Pizza Oven Error Code Ignition Error: No Temperature Rise
Ignition Error means the oven did not see a 25F (-4C) rise within three minutes after the ignition enable signal. On a restart within 50F of set point, the timing is ten minutes. The manual's step is a hard reset; if it still shows, contact XLT.
High: the oven is not heating, and the cause may involve the gas supply.

What does XLT Ignition Error mean?
When the XLT controller asks the burner to light, it sends an ignition enable signal and then watches the oven temperature. A burner that has lit should push the temperature up. The manual states the test plainly: if the temperature does not climb by 25F (-4C) within three minutes of the enable signal, the controller shows Ignition Error on the LUI display. If the oven is restarted when its actual temperature is already within 50F of the set point, the allowed time is longer, ten minutes, because a warm oven rises more slowly. The HEAT LED on the controller flashes with the Alarm LED lit. The alarm reflects the result, not the reason, so a burner that failed to light, a burner that lit but a probe that did not respond, and a gas supply problem would all look alike to the controller. The manual lists no causes and gives only the hard reset and a call to XLT.
Affected models and control systems
XLT conveyor ovens, gas version H (Standard, World, Australia, Korea) with the LUI/OMC controller. The electric version H Parts & Service Manual XD 9007A prints the same table.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Ignition Error alarm on the LUI display
- HEAT LED flashing with Alarm LED on
- Oven that stays cold or heats very slowly after startup
- No flame sound or burner noise at startup
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind Ignition Error on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Gas supply to the oven shut off or interrupted at the building
- Burner not lighting because of a dirty or worn ignition part
- Oven probe not reporting the temperature rise that is actually happening
- Blocked flue or restricted combustion air slowing the burner
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the gas supply valve to the oven is open and that nothing has changed at the building's gas service.
- Do the manual's hard reset: unplug the oven for one minute, plug in, power on.
- Start the oven again and watch whether the display temperature begins to climb.
- If Ignition Error returns, shut the oven off and contact XLT or a service company.
- Note whether the oven was cold or warm when you started it, and how long you waited.
How a technician diagnoses Ignition Error
- Read the alarm and note oven temperature and the restart state.
- Confirm gas supply and pressure at the oven.
- Observe the ignition sequence and check the ignition parts for proper operation.
- Check the oven probe reading to confirm it follows a real temperature rise.
- Check venting and combustion air, then repair the cause and test through a full heat-up.
- Gas supply, valves and burner ignition parts are gas-appliance work needing proper training.
- Observing the ignition sequence means working near live ignition and 208-240 V circuits.
- Combustion and venting checks need instruments and knowledge of gas appliance codes.
How Ignition Error differs from similar codes
Unlike Under Temp, which looks at the oven after the set point is reached, Ignition Error looks at the first minutes after the burner is told to light.

Why is the restart timing ten minutes?
The manual says the timing is ten minutes when the oven restarts within 50F of the set point.
Should I keep pressing restart?
No. Repeated attempts do not fix a gas or ignition cause. Shut the oven off and have it checked.
Is Ignition Error the same as Under Temp?
No. Ignition Error concerns the first rise after ignition. Under Temp concerns the oven falling below set point after reaching it.
