Merrychef High-Speed Oven Error Code E000: Boards Linked (OK)
E000 appears on the Merrychef display as "OK" and is an information entry, not a problem. It records that the QTS touch screen board and the SRB relay board have established communication, which is normal after power-up or a firmware update. If the oven is cooking normally, nothing needs to be done.
Low: an information entry only; the oven keeps running.

What does Merrychef error code E000 mean?
Inside the oven the QTS board runs the touch screen and the SRB board switches the heaters, fans and magnetrons. The two boards talk constantly. Whenever that link is made, the oven writes an event so a technician can see when it happened. The entry reads E000: OK. It is not the result of any test, and nothing is switched off because of it. You will most often see it right after E100 (mains power on) or after a firmware load, when the boards find each other again. It also tends to follow an E107 communication entry, which is the event written when the link is lost. The manual's guidance is simple: no solution is needed when the entry follows power-on or a successful firmware update. Only when it shows up without either of those reasons does the manual point to the QTS and SRB connections and the communication cable between them.
Affected models and control systems
Merrychef eikon e2s, which uses the QTS touch screen and the SRB relay board as its controller. This entry was confirmed in the e2s service manual only.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- E000 listed in the event log with a time stamp
- Display reading OK
- The oven cooks normally before and after the entry
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E000 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Oven was just powered on and the boards linked up
- A firmware update finished and the boards restarted
- A brief communication drop on the cable between the boards, logged earlier as E107
Safe checks before calling for service
- Note whether the entry sits next to an E100 power-on entry or a firmware update.
- If the oven runs normally, leave it alone; the entry only records a link being made.
- If it appears repeatedly with no power cut or update, write down the dates and times.
- Record any screen freezing or restarts for the service call.
How a technician diagnoses error code E000
- Read the event log and see what sits directly before E000: E100, a firmware update or an E107.
- If it follows power-on or an update, close it out; the manual calls for no action.
- If it appears with no such cause, check the QTS to SRB connections and the communication cable for seating and damage.
- Look for repeated E107 and E000 pairs, which show a link that keeps dropping.
- Replace the communication cable first if it shows wear, and only then consider a board.
- The cabinet holds mains-voltage parts, so panels stay closed for anyone but a technician.
- Judging whether a repeating pattern is a cable or a board takes the full event log read with the oven's service tools.
How error code E000 differs from similar codes
E000 is an information entry on its own; other codes with a similar link problem, such as E107, are the ones that signal a lost connection.

Is E000 a real error?
No. It is an information entry that says the two control boards are in contact. After power-up or a firmware update it is expected.
Why does the oven log E000 over and over?
Repeated entries without a power cut or update mean the link keeps dropping and returning. A technician should check the communication cable between the QTS and SRB boards.
Does E000 mean the oven stopped cooking?
Not by itself. The entry marks a link being established, and the oven keeps working normally once it is made.
