Eversys Coffee Machine Error Code W-004: Water Flow Too Low
W-004 says the water flow is too low, so drinks may come out weak or slow. Check that the tap is fully open, the hose is not folded, and the filter reminder is not due. If W-004 keeps returning, call us.
Medium: a warning where service continues, but drink quality can suffer until the flow is restored.

What does Eversys error code W-004 mean?
The Cameo counts pulses from a flow meter as water passes through, and from that it knows how fast water is moving. When the count drops below 0.3 tick per second, the control decides water is not flowing as it should and shows W-004. It is a warning, so staff still see the machine running, though drinks may be weak, slow or short. The cause is often simple. A tap that is only partly open, a hose with a kink, or a water filter near the end of its life can all restrict the supply. On the machine side, a grinder set too fine packs the coffee tightly and slows the water passing through it, and too much powder added through the chute does the same. A worn flow meter or a pump that struggles can produce the same low count with plenty of water available, which is why the supply is checked first and the meter afterward. One slow cup does not trigger it. The reading has to stay low. The display text is W-004.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to the Eversys Cameo with W-xxx warning messages. W-089 is the separate warning for low water line pressure or flow.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Weak or slow drinks
- Warning appears on the display
- Coffee extracts more slowly than usual
- Water seems to trickle from the outlet
Possible causes
Listed in Eversys's documentation
- Water tap partly closed or supply line restricted
- Worn-out water filter
- Grinder set too fine, packing the coffee
- Too much powder dropped through the powder chute
- Weak flow meter or pump
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code W-004 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A flow meter wheel that sticks because of scale or debris and under-counts
- A pump that has weakened and can no longer push water through a fine grind
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the water tap is fully open and the supply hose is not folded.
- Look at the filter reminder. If it is due, replace the filter as the owner's guide lists.
- Ask the person who adjusts the grinder whether it was moved finer recently.
- Check that nobody is adding too much powder through the chute.
- If W-004 keeps returning, call us and note when it appears.
How a technician diagnoses error code W-004
- Check supply pressure and flow at the machine inlet.
- Inspect the filter and inlet strainer.
- Measure actual flow into a container and compare it with the meter count.
- Test the flow meter signal and the pump output.
- Review grinder settings against coffee bed resistance.
- Replace the flow meter or pump only after it fails the test.
- Once the tap, hose and filter are ruled out, the cause is the flow meter, pump or inlet valve behind the panels.
- Measuring real flow against the meter count needs a flow test and a meter on the signal.
- The pump and its wiring run on mains voltage.

Can I keep serving with W-004 on?
Usually yes, since it is a warning. Drinks may be weak or slow, so taste them.
Is W-004 the same as W-089?
No. W-089 points to the building water line. W-004 is the count at the flow meter, which can also be caused by a fine grind.
What if I changed the filter and it still shows?
Then grinder settings, powder or the flow meter come next. Call us.
