A lint-packed or crushed duct, a clogged lint screen or a vent hood stuck shut leaves hot air with nowhere to go, and humid air makes it worse. After the vent, we check the heating element on an electric dryer, or the ignition and gas valve on a gas dryer.
A drum that will not turn sends us to the belt, the idler pulley and the motor. If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility from outside before doing anything else.

What should I check before calling about a dryer code?
Turn the dryer off, empty the lint screen and make sure the vent outlet outside is clear. Then restart it. If the code returns, call us with the code and the model number.
Why are my clothes still wet after a full cycle?
This is most often a restricted vent or a full lint screen. If both are clear, the heat source or a sensor may be failing, and we test those.
Do you repair gas dryers?
Yes. We check the ignition, the gas valve and the exhaust. We close the gas valve before working, and if you ever smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility from outside.
