What does Alto-Shaam error code E47 mean?
A multipoint core probe sends one signal per sensing point back to the control, and each signal should look like a temperature. If the second line is tied to ground, the signal looks like a dead short and the control posts E47 B10 - Point 2 Fault. The manual gives one cause: the probe is miswired or has malfunctioned. The short might be inside the probe shaft, along the cable or at the plug, and only a meter can place it. The message names point 2, so the other points may still read normally. That separates E47 from E27, where the same point is open or defective, and from E45, where the whole probe is shorted. Pressing Start acknowledges the message and the oven then tries to return to normal operation, but the control will flag the probe again whenever a core-temperature program uses it. Programs that run on time do not need the probe.
Affected models and control systems

Possible causes
Listed in Alto-Shaam's documentation
- Probe B10 miswired or failed
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E47 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Probe shaft bent or dented from being pushed into frozen product, breaking insulation on one line
- Moisture drawn into the plug after rinsing the probe under a tap
Safe checks before calling for service
- Press the Start icon once to acknowledge E47.
- Wipe and dry the plug and shaft, and look for dents or kinks.
- Reseat the probe fully and try a short program.
- If E47 returns, switch to time-based cooking and tell the technician whether any other point codes appeared.
How a technician diagnoses error code E47
- Read the code and check history for E46, E48 and E49.
- Inspect the probe shaft, cable and plug for damage.
- Disconnect the probe and measure point 2 to ground with a meter.
- Check the receptacle wiring to the control for a short.
- Replace B10 if the short is in the probe, or repair the wiring if it is not.
- Line tests need a meter and the probe disconnected from a live circuit.
- The receptacle harness is part of the control wiring.
- A misread core temperature affects food safety.
How error code E47 differs from similar codes
E27 means point 2 of B10 is open or defective; E47 means the same point is shorted to ground.

Related Alto-Shaam combi oven error codes
Does E47 mean the whole probe is dead?
It names point 2, but the control will not trust the probe until it is repaired.
Can moisture cause it?
A wet plug is a plausible path to ground, so drying is worth trying.
Is E47 the same as E46?
No, E46 names point 1.
