Eversys Coffee Machine Error Code S-009: Grounds Drawer Missing

What does Eversys error code S-009 mean?

A sensor beside the grounds drawer tells the control that the drawer is in place. Without it, used coffee pucks would fall inside the machine, so the control halts coffee drinks and shows S-009 until the sensor sees the drawer again. Staff typically meet this right after pulling the drawer to empty it and sliding it back without the last firm push. If the drawer sits a few millimeters short of its stop, the sensor does not register it, and the message stays. Grounds or moisture on the rails can hold the drawer slightly out, and a drawer that is cracked or bent may never seat properly. When the drawer is in place and the machine still calls it missing, the sensor or its contact area is the likely reason, and cleaning the area is the safest thing an operator can try. The control only knows what the sensor reports, so it cannot separate a drawer that is out of place from a sensor that has stopped working. A technician tests the sensor with the drawer fully seated to decide. The display reads S-009.
