Eversys Coffee Machine Error Code W-056: Milk Input Sensor Failure
W-056 reports a failure of the milk input temperature sensor. The control cannot read a believable temperature where milk enters the system. Check the milk is chilled, restart once, and stop serving milk drinks and call us if it returns.
Medium: milk drinks may be limited, while non-milk drinks continue.

What does Eversys error code W-056 mean?
The Cameo reads the temperature of the milk at the point where it enters the system, and uses it to judge whether the milk is cold enough and to adjust how it is handled. If that sensor gives a reading that is missing or not believable, the control cannot judge milk temperature correctly and shows W-056. Staff may notice milk drinks stopping or the milk system acting cautiously. The owner's guide points to the sensor and its cable. We start with the sensor, then its cable, then the board input that receives the signal. Another part of the check is the milk itself: if the milk is warmer than it should be, the control's reading may be correct and the sensor fine, which is why the first operator step is to confirm the milk is chilled and the tank is seated. A restart may clear a one-time glitch. If the warning returns, serving milk drinks without a reliable temperature reading is a food safety concern, so we advise pausing milk until the sensor is tested. The display text is W-056.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to the Eversys Cameo with W-xxx warning messages on machines with a milk system. W-058 and W-059 are the tank temperature warnings, a different measurement.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice

- Warning on the display
- Milk system acts cautiously
- Warning returns after a restart
Possible causes
Listed in Eversys's documentation
- Failed milk input temperature sensor
- Damaged sensor cable or connector
- Failed board input for the milk temperature signal
- Milk actually warmer than expected
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code W-056 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A sensor in the milk path that has a film of dried milk and reads slowly
- A connector under the machine that has been splashed by cleaning solution
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the milk is chilled and the tank is seated properly.
- Turn the main switch off, wait about ten seconds and switch it on again once.
- Make one milk drink and watch for the warning.
- If W-056 returns, stop serving milk drinks and call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code W-056
- Check the temperature of the milk with a reference thermometer.
- Read the temperature the control reports at the input.
- Inspect the sensor, cable and connectors.
- Measure the sensor against its resistance chart.
- Check the board input.
- Replace the sensor or cable only after it fails the test.
- The sensor sits in the milk path, which has to be opened to food-safety standards.
- Checking it against a reference thermometer needs a meter and the cabinet open.
- Serving milk without a reliable temperature reading is a food-safety concern.

Is my milk unsafe because of W-056?
Not necessarily. The control cannot read the temperature reliably, so check the milk with a thermometer and pause milk drinks until it is tested.
Is W-056 the same as W-058?
No. W-056 is the input sensor failing. W-058 is the left tank temperature being too high.
Can I clear it by restarting?
Once, yes. If it returns, the sensor or its cable needs a test.
