IPSO Washer Error Code Ed10: Low DC Bus
Ed10 on an IPSO CHM495R washer-extractor means the DC bus inside the motor drive dipped below its normal range. The manual says the cycle continues and no user input is required. Note when it appears, and tell a technician if it shows up often.
Low: an informational warning; the machine keeps running.
What does IPSO error code Ed10 mean?
The motor drive turns incoming AC power into a DC bus that supplies the motor. The drive keeps an eye on that bus, and Ed10 is posted when the voltage sags below the normal working range. Unlike the high-bus code Ed02, this one is treated as a warning: the control keeps the cycle going and simply shows the code, so operators often see Ed10 flash while the wash carries on. It still tells us something useful, namely that the supply or the drive sagged at some moment, usually when the motor drew heavily or another large load started nearby. A weak line, a loose power connection or an aging drive bus circuit can cause it. One flash during a busy morning is not a concern. A code that repeats on every load, or that gets paired with stops, suggests that the supply or the drive deserves a proper look.
Affected models and control systems
The CHM495R family of washer-extractors, 20 to 100 lb, with the front-end control. Other controller generations use different codes.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Ed10 flashes while the wash continues
- Slight dip in motor speed at the moment the code appears
- Code shows more often when other machines start
- No stop and no lost load
Possible causes
Listed in IPSO's documentation
- Brief sag in line voltage or drive bus
- Motor drawing heavy current at a ramp-up
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code Ed10 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Another large machine starting on the same feeder
- A loose lug at the disconnect that adds resistance
- A drive bus capacitor losing capacity with age
- Undersized building wiring serving several machines
Safe checks before calling for service
- Let the cycle finish, since the manual requires no action.
- Note when the code appears and what else is running at that moment.
- Do not touch the electrical connections.
- Tell us the pattern when you book a visit.
How a technician diagnoses error code Ed10
- Read the code history to see how often and at what cycle step Ed10 appears.
- Measure line voltage at the machine under load and compare it with the nameplate.
- Check the disconnect, lugs and feeder for heat marks or looseness.
- Test the drive bus circuit if the supply is steady.
- Recommend feeder or drive work only when readings show a real sag.
- Voltage readings at the disconnect and drive involve live 208-240 V terminals. A low reading often traces to building wiring, which needs a licensed electrician. A drive bus circuit stores charge and should not be probed by operators.

Do I need to stop the wash when Ed10 flashes?
No. The manual says the cycle continues with no user input.
Will Ed10 clear on its own?
Yes, the message goes away as the wash goes on. It returns if the dips continue.
Is Ed10 a problem with the motor?
Not usually. It concerns the supply to the drive, not the motor windings.
