IPSO Washer Error Code Ed11: Invalid Command
Ed11 on an IPSO CHM495R washer-extractor means the motor drive was given a movement command it does not accept. The manual says the cycle continues. Jot down which cycle and step was running, and leave programmed settings alone until a technician reviews them.
Low: an informational message; the cycle keeps running.
What does IPSO error code Ed11 mean?
The front-end control tells the motor drive what to do: tumble at this speed, spin at that speed, reverse. The drive accepts only commands within its programmed limits. When a command arrives that it cannot carry out, such as a speed outside its range, it ignores the command and reports Ed11 back to the control. The manual treats this as informational, so the cycle continues and the code appears briefly while the wash goes on. It points to a mismatch between what the control asked for and what the drive allows, such as a setting out of range. One appearance after a program edit is understandable. A repeat may mean a setting problem, or a control and drive that were not matched when one of them was replaced, or a link that corrupts the message.
Affected models and control systems
The CHM495R family of washer-extractors, 20 to 100 lb, with the front-end control. Other controller generations use different codes.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Ed11 appears briefly during a cycle
- Motor step behaves differently from the program
- No stop; the wash goes on
- Code shows at the same step every time
Possible causes
Listed in IPSO's documentation
- A control command outside the drive's accepted range
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code Ed11 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A cycle program edited with a speed the drive does not allow
- A control or drive replaced recently with different software
- A link connector that corrupts messages
- Drive limits reset to different values
Safe checks before calling for service
- Let the cycle continue, since the manual shows no action is needed.
- Write down which cycle and step was running when the code showed.
- Avoid changing programmed settings until we review them.
- Share your notes when you contact us.
How a technician diagnoses error code Ed11
- Read the code history and match Ed11 to the cycle step that triggers it.
- Review the cycle program for speeds and ramps outside the drive's limits.
- Compare control and drive software versions for a match.
- Inspect the link connector with power locked out.
- Reload parameters or replace the board only after comparing settings.
- Reviewing cycle programs means using the machine's own service menu and saved settings, which can be altered by mistake. Version matching of control and drive requires manufacturer data. Opening the cabinet for the link puts hands near live 208-240 V wiring.

Does Ed11 stop the wash?
No. Per the manual, the cycle continues.
Can I fix Ed11 by editing the program?
Not safely. Changing speeds without knowing the drive limits can create new codes.
How is Ed11 different from Ed07?
Ed07 is a missing setup before movement. Ed11 is a command the drive receives but refuses.
