IPSO Washer-Extractor Error Code Ed10: Bus Voltage Dip
Ed10 on an IPSO CHM495R washer-extractor means the DC bus voltage in the motor drive dipped below its normal range. The manual says the cycle continues and the operator does nothing. Write down when the code appears and which other machines were starting, then share that when you call.
Low: an informational notice; the machine keeps running.

What does IPSO error code Ed10 mean?
The drive supplies the motor from an internal DC bus and expects that bus to stay within a working range. When the bus sags below it, the drive notes the dip. On this control the dip is treated as a notice, not a stop: the batch carries on and the display flashes Ed10. It records that the supply or the drive sagged for a moment. A weak line, other large motors starting on the same feed, a loose connection or an aging drive can cause it. Frequent flashes are worth a look. A plant with several machines on one feeder often sees Ed10 at shift start or after a break, when many machines begin at once. That pattern points at the feeder rather than the washer. A single flash a month is not a reason to call anyone.
Affected models and control systems
CHM495R washer-extractors, 20 to 100 lb, with the front-end control. Other controller generations use different codes.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Ed10 flashes while the batch keeps running
- Slight hesitation in basket speed at the moment of the dip
- Flashes cluster at shift start
- No lost batch
Possible causes
Listed in IPSO's documentation
- Steadiness of the line voltage
- Terminal tightness at the machine's supply
- Bus circuit in the drive
- Other large loads on the same feed
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code Ed10 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Shift-start surge when several machines energize together
- A feeder breaker that is warm and lightly loose
- Reduced capacity in the bus circuit of an older drive
- Undersized supply wire for the machine's draw
Safe checks before calling for service
- Let the batch finish; the manual asks for no action.
- Write down when the code appears and which other machines were starting.
- Leave electrical connections alone.
- Share your notes when you call us, so we can bring a meter and the right parts.
How a technician diagnoses error code Ed10
- Read the code history and see when Ed10 clusters.
- Measure line voltage under load at the machine, and at the feeder if needed.
- Check lugs, breakers and the disconnect for heat discoloration.
- Examine the drive bus circuit if the supply is steady.
- Report to the plant electrician if the feeder is the cause.
- Measuring a loaded supply puts a meter on live 208-240 V terminals. Feeder or breaker work belongs to a licensed electrician. Drive bus parts stay charged after power-off.

Does the machine need to be stopped for Ed10?
No. The cycle continues and the manual says no action is required.
How often is too often?
If Ed10 appears at every batch or comes with stops, it deserves a visit.
Is Ed10 a sign of a bad washer?
It more often reflects the electrical supply to the washer.
