What does Newco Fill Time Out Error mean?
The Bistro Touch fills its tank with water before it heats and brews. The control allows a limited time for the tank to reach its level. If the level is not reached in that time, the brewer stops and shows a Call For Service screen reading Fill Time Out Error. The manual lists five causes, ordered from simplest to most involved: the water supply is shut off to the machine, the supply line is blocked or too small, the water filter is restricted, the inlet solenoid valve has failed, or the control board has failed. The actions follow the same order: check the water supply shutoff, repair or replace the supply line as needed, replace the water filter, replace the inlet valve, and replace the control board. The last two are marked as requiring service.

- Kinked or crushed supply tube behind the brewer
- Water filter long past its change date and clogged with sediment
- Low building water pressure at busy times
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the water shutoff to the brewer is fully open.
- Look at the supply line for kinks or crushing, and check that it is the right size for the brewer.
- If the filter is old, replace it with the correct one.
- Switch the brewer off and on and let it try to fill.
- If Fill Time Out Error returns, call for service and report what you checked.
How a technician diagnoses Fill Time Out Error
- Read the screen and confirm Fill Time Out Error.
- Measure supply pressure and flow at the brewer inlet.
- Check the inlet solenoid valve for voltage and operation.
- Check the fill level sensing and the control board output.
- Replace the part that fails, then run a full fill.
- Inlet valve and board checks are made on live circuits next to water.
- The manual marks valve and board replacement as requiring service.
- Measuring flow and pressure needs proper instruments.
How Fill Time Out Error differs from similar codes
The 20:1 brewers show E4 (Tank Fill Error) with a shorter cause list; the Bistro Touch shows this Call For Service screen.
