What does Varimixer error code EE:06 mean?

The main motor is driven by a frequency inverter, and the touch display talks to it over a link. If that link goes quiet, the display and control cannot command the motor, and the mixer shows EE:06. Without the inverter the mixer cannot run. The manual's operator step is to press the stop button twice to reset the alarm, which can clear a one-off interruption. It also says to call a technician and refers to the service manual if the alarm continues. A returning code points to the cable, the connector, the inverter or the display, and none of these can be sorted out at the front of the machine. Flour dust and moisture are common in a bakery or kitchen, and both can build up on a connector over time and make a communication link intermittent. The code gives no hint about which end of the link has the problem, so it has to be traced with the covers off. Until then, avoid running the mixer from the wall switch as a way of forcing a restart.

Safe checks before calling for service

✓ What an operator can do
  1. Press the stop button twice to reset the alarm.
  2. Try Start again.
  3. Do not unplug or open anything.
  4. If EE:06 returns, switch the mixer off at the wall and contact technical assistance.
  5. Tell the technician whether the code appears at power-up or while running.

How a technician diagnoses error code EE:06

  1. Read the code and the history.
  2. Check the communication cable and connectors between the display and inverter.
  3. Check inverter power and its status indication.
  4. Check the supply voltage.
  5. Reseat the connectors and test the link.
  6. Replace the cable, display or inverter as the tests show.
! Leave this to a technician
  • The inverter runs at line voltage and holds charge after switch-off.
  • Link tests are made with the covers off and the machine powered.
  • A flaky link can be a cable, a connector or a board, and only measurements on the live link separate them.

How error code EE:06 differs from similar codes

EE:07 is a problem inside the inverter, while EE:06 is a lost connection to it.
