What does Wascomat error code 02 mean?
In a laundromat the door gets opened and slammed all day, so this check matters. The Compass control raises it only while a program is running, when the closed-door input shows that the door was opened. The control then stops the cycle and displays ERROR 002 / DOOR OPEN. It reads an electrical input, not the door position directly, so a customer pulling the door and a worn lock dropping the signal look identical to the control. The manual lists three causes: a bad or defective door lock, a loose cable to the door lock, and a problem with the door lock edge connection. Its steps are to check the door lock, the cable to the lock and the edge connection. A machine that stops repeatedly with the door closed should not be left in service, because the lock is part of the safety chain for the spinning drum.
