What does Wascomat error code 09 mean?
Washers in a laundromat see every kind of load, including drums stuffed to the door. The motor has a built-in klixon, a thermal breaker that opens when the winding gets too hot. When it opens, the Compass control displays ERROR 009 / KLIXON and stops the program. The manual lists four causes. An overloaded drum and long periods at low rpm overwork the motor. A defective klixon breaker can open when the motor is not really hot, and a short in the cable between the motor and the CPU board can mimic an open breaker. The service steps are to look for those four conditions. Note that on coin-operated machines the same number is also used for a different message, DRUM OVERFILLED, so read the display text before deciding which page applies.
