The TSF Super Deluxe is the freezer partner of the TSR refrigerator, with models such as the TSF-23GSD-N, TSF-23SD-N and TSF-35SD-N. Six numbers are in the line. It uses an 88 LED controller with an F-sensor in the cabinet and a D-sensor on the coil.
The codes tell a clear story. F1 is the cabinet sensor, D1 is the defrost sensor, C1 is a cycle problem and F3 is a defrost that did not reach temperature. The defrost interval can be set to 6, 8, 10 or 12 hours. We check the named sensor first, then the heater and the coil, the door seal and the condenser.
A freezer with F3 should be looked at soon, because a coil that cannot defrost loses cooling over days. We run the controller through a defrost after the repair to confirm the D-sensor reaches its target and the heater switches off.

The interval is selectable at 6, 8, 10 or 12 hours. A setting that does not suit the load can cause frost, and we review it.
What does F3 mean?
It means the D-sensor did not reach 50 F within 40 minutes of defrost. The heater or sensor needs testing. Defrost repeats until it succeeds, so a weak heater can leave the coil frosted for days.
Why are there two sensors?
The F-sensor reads cabinet air and the D-sensor reads the coil. The controller needs both to run defrost correctly. If either one reads wrong, the freezer can end defrost too soon or run it too long.
