The door lock on a UniMac QN washer-extractor is driven by the input and output board. One of the board's pins lets it switch the door lock off, so the door can be released when the drum has stopped. Eio 30 reports a hardware failure on that pin. Because a failed self-check means the board cannot promise to release or hold the lock, a safety matter, the control stops the cycle and keeps the code up until a technician examines the board. The door must stay locked while the drum turns and must be releasable when it does not. For that reason this code is handled more seriously than a message about a valve.
