UniMac Industrial Washer Error Code OVERHT: Temperature Input Out of Range
OVERHT means the temperature input circuit is open or shorted, or temperatures are outside the machine's allowable limits. It is not recoverable, and the manual says to contact a service technician.
High: the temperature input cannot be trusted and the error does not recover.

What does UniMac error code OVERHT mean?
For heated cycles, the WE-6 computer relies on a temperature input. If that input shows an open circuit, a short, or readings beyond the allowable limits, the computer displays OVERHT and stops. The manual calls it non-recoverable and sends the owner to a service technician; there is no Enter or Clear and no timed answer. The point is that the machine cannot trust its own temperature reading. That might be a sensor failure, damaged wiring, or a genuine temperature problem. It is worth keeping apart from TEMP. TEMP says the sensor is fine and the water is too hot, and it clears when the water cools. OVERHT is about the circuit and the limits, so cooling the tub alone will not clear it. A technician starts by comparing the real water temperature with what the computer sees, because that one comparison separates a failed sensor or cable from a true out-of-limit condition. Heated cycles are the ones that depend on this input, so a machine that shows OVERHT should be left off until that check has been done.

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- OVERHT on the display
- Machine stops and stays stopped
- Tub may be warm or cold
- Alarm returns after restart
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code OVERHT on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Temperature sensor open or shorted
- Damaged sensor cable or loose connector
- Real temperature outside the allowed limits
- Temperature input on the computer not reading correctly
Safe checks before calling for service
- Switch the machine off and let the tub cool.
- Do not keep restarting to see whether it goes away.
- Check the floor for leaks around the machine.
- Keep the area behind the machine clear.
- Record the display and the cycle that was running, and call for service.
How a technician diagnoses error code OVERHT
- Read OVERHT and the cycle step.
- Check real water temperature with a reference thermometer.
- Measure the sensor resistance with power off and compare it with temperature.
- Inspect the cable and connector for damage.
- Test the computer input and replace the failing part.
- The sensor wiring runs into the line-voltage electrical area of the cabinet.
- Sensor testing needs a meter and a reference thermometer.
- Hot water and heat sources are a burn hazard.
How error code OVERHT differs from similar codes
OVERHT is a problem with the temperature input and does not recover. TEMP is a high reading that does.

Will cooling the tub clear OVERHT?
Not on its own. The error concerns the input circuit and limits, and needs a technician.
Is the water really overheated?
Not necessarily. An open or shorted sensor can trigger it.
Is it the same as TEMP?
No. TEMP is recoverable and clears when the temperature falls.
