UniMac Industrial Washer Error Code ME: Cycle Data Needs Editing
ME means the WE-6 computer found a problem in the cycle information. The error is recoverable. Open the cycle in programming mode and correct the stored data.

What does UniMac error code ME mean?
A wash cycle on this machine is a list of steps with their times, temperatures and options, stored in memory. Before running it, the computer reads the list and checks it. If something in the stored information is wrong, it refuses the cycle and displays ME. The manual gives the fix in one line: edit the cycle in programming mode so the stored cycle data is correct. None of the machine's hardware is implicated. There is no valve, sensor or lock to test, because the error sits in the program. The usual trigger is a recent edit, for example a step that was started and not finished, or a cycle that was copied over. The machine can usually run other cycles in the meantime, which keeps a laundry working while one program is corrected. When the repair is made, a short test of the corrected cycle is enough to confirm that the computer now accepts it, since nothing else on the machine needs adjustment.
Affected models and control systems

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- ME on the display
- Only one cycle is refused
- Other cycles start normally
- Shows up after someone changed a program
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code ME on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A step left unfinished after editing
- A cycle keyed in with a value the machine does not accept
- Stored cycle data altered by a power interruption while saving
Safe checks before calling for service
- Pick a different cycle and see whether it runs.
- Write down the number of the cycle that shows ME.
- Do not keep trying to start the same one.
- Find out who edited that cycle last.
- Give the cycle number to the person who handles programming.
How a technician diagnoses error code ME
- Confirm ME and which cycle is stored under that number.
- Enter programming mode and open the cycle.
- Go through each step for missing, zero or out-of-range values.
- Fix the values and store the cycle.
- Run it once to see that ME does not return.
- Programming mode governs times and temperatures for every load.
- A wrong value can run a cycle too hot or too long.
- We compare the repaired cycle with the site's standard before releasing the machine.
How error code ME differs from similar codes
ME is a program data problem, not a mechanical one. FILL, EMTY and TEMP report physical conditions.
