UniMac Industrial Washer Heat Alarm Error: Heat Time Exceeded
Heat Alarm Error means the Heat Alarm time was exceeded, so the water did not reach temperature in the time allowed. The cycle is stopped and the Cycle Stopped Error Menu alternates with the Run Menu while an audio alarm sounds. The user can continue or abort the cycle.
Medium: hot cycles are held up until the heat problem is resolved.

What does UniMac Heat Alarm Error mean?
A heated step is given a time limit, the Heat Alarm time. If the water has not reached the required temperature when that time ends, the UniLinc control stops the cycle, sounds the audio alarm, shows the Cycle Stopped Error Menu alternating with the Run Menu and logs the event in its Heat count. The manual lets the user continue or abort. Continuing gives the heat another chance, which suits a case where the supply was cold for a while and is recovering. Typical reasons are a heat source that is off or limited, a heating valve or element that is not working, a supply colder than the program expects, or a Heat Alarm time that is set shorter than the heat needs. Because the alarm is about the time and not about the sensor, it is separate from the temperature sensor errors.
Affected models and control systems
UniMac UniLinc control on the UW35TV, UW60TV, UW80TV, UW100TV, UW125TV and UW150TV washer-extractors and the UWL, UWN and UWU 035-150 T3 models.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Heat Alarm Error on the display
- Audio alarm
- Menus alternating
- Water lukewarm after the heat step
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind Heat Alarm Error on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Heating supply off or restricted
- Heating valve or element not working
- Supply water colder than the program assumes
- Heat Alarm time set shorter than the heat needs
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the building's heat supply to the machine is on.
- If the water is warming, choose to continue.
- If it is still cold, choose to abort.
- Do not run more hot cycles until the cause is known.
- Note the Heat count and the temperature you expected.
How a technician diagnoses Heat Alarm Error
- Read the log and the Heat count.
- Check the heat supply, valve and element at the step.
- Compare actual temperature with the display.
- Check the temperature sensor for accuracy.
- Correct the heat problem or the alarm time, then run a verification cycle.
- Heating valves and elements run at line voltage or with live steam.
- Hot water and steam are a burn hazard.
- The alarm time is adjusted in programming mode against site data.
How Heat Alarm Error differs from similar codes
Heat Alarm Error is about heat taking too long. The sensor errors report open and shorted thermistors.

Continue or abort?
Continue if the water is warming; abort if it is cold.
Is the sensor bad?
Not necessarily. The alarm is about the time.
Why does it count?
The control logs it in the Heat count so repeat events are visible.
