UltraPro14 is the 14 inch infrared premix gas fryer. Models are B-IRS-14, F-IRS-14 and B-IRC-14-B. A blower mixes gas and air for the infrared burner, and an electrode lights it.
The usual problems are an ignition lockout, no spark or no blower. A cracked electrode or wrong gas pressure can cause puffing at start-up. If the heat runs too high, we check the probe, the temperature setting and the high limit. The limit can also shut things down when oil falls below the minimum fill line.
High kitchen temperatures and loose wiring can cause problems that come and go, so we check connections too. Tell us what the fryer did before it stopped when you book. Name the model when you call, B-IRS-14, F-IRS-14 or B-IRC-14-B.

The gas valve, the electrode or the ignition module may be the cause. The gas supply comes first, then each of those parts in turn, and you hear the cost before we repair anything.
What causes puffing when it starts?
Wrong gas pressure or a cracked electrode can cause puffing at start-up. Should you ever notice gas in the air, go outside and call the utility before anything else.
Why does the high limit shut it down?
Low oil, a bad probe or a control problem can trip it. Let the oil cool, make sure it sits above the minimum fill line, and call us if the limit trips again.
