Kolpak Walk-In Cooler and Freezer Repair
We repair Kolpak walk-in coolers and freezers in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, including Polar-Pak drop-in systems, P7 and KF walk-ins and older PR, PC and PCL systems. Older systems are welcome, and the written price comes first.
Common Kolpak problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Walk-in will not hold temperature
Ice on the evaporator coil
Defrost clock does not cycle
High pressure control keeps tripping
Controller shows an SF sensor message
Alarm sounds during loading
Kolpak Systems We Repair
We repair Kolpak walk-ins and their refrigeration. The current Polar-Pak drop-in systems are PC and PFE models that mount on top of the box and use R-454C refrigerant. We also work on the Polar-Pak walk-ins sold as P7 and PX7 top-mount rooms, the KF modular walk-ins in remote or self-contained form, and the older PR, PC and PCL refrigeration systems.
Alarms, Clocks and Cut-Outs
The older systems use a defrost time clock, in an air-defrost or an electric-defrost version, and the alarm set points are HAO, LAO and tAd. A box that alarms during loading may only need those set points looked at. Polar-Pak drop-in systems use an electronic temperature control, and an SF/OP or SF/SH message points to a sensor. We also check the evaporator for ice, the door gasket and closer, and the heater wire at the door frame.
Heat is the other half of the story. A condensing unit in summer heat and dust gets dirty and hot, and a high-pressure cut-out that keeps tripping often points there before it points to a part. The cut-out is a safety control and is not adjustable in the field, so we find the reason it opens.
Older Kolpak Systems
Some older Kolpak walk-ins with MAC 7 controllers are still running. We repair them and say plainly when a repair no longer makes sense. The written price comes before any work, and the repair is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.

They are the high and low temperature alarm set points on the older systems. A loaded box can trip them, so we check the set points and the box before changing anything.
Do you service Kolpak Polar-Pak drop-in systems?
Yes, the PC and PFE models. They mount on top of the walk-in, so we start with the condenser, the controller and the sensors, then check the box and the door.
Can an older Kolpak walk-in with a time clock still be repaired?
Usually. The clock and the heater parts are repairable. If the box is worn past the point of a sensible repair, we tell you before work starts.
