Common Cleveland problems we fix

Steam or water leaking by the door
Steam does not stop at timer end
Drain blocked or valve stuck open
Cleveland Steamers and Kettles We Repair
Cleveland covers a wide range and we see most of it. Steamers include the ConvectionPro 16-pan electric, SteamChef boilerless steamers in three and six pan sizes with easyTimer, SureCook or easyTouch controls, SteamCraft Ultra counter steamers with remote-probe water level controls, and the PEM and PGM pressure steamers. Older SteamCraft and CET electric steamers still run daily. For kettles we repair the KEL electric, KGL gas and KDL direct steam models, stationary and tilting, plus the mixer kettle.
Scale Is the Usual Enemy
Hard water is the main threat to any steamer. Los Angeles, San Diego and Houston all have notably hard supplies, and scale coats the sensors and the generator. The first signs are a unit that will not fill, weak steam, or a tripped high limit. Before replacing anything we check the water supply and strainer, scale on the sensors, the door interlock and the high limit. Cleveland publishes descaling procedures, and we use an approved descaler instead of guessing.
Steam or water leaking at the door usually means a clogged drain, a worn gasket or a unit that is not level. If steam keeps going after the timer ends, we look at manual mode and a stuck steam valve. On the older 24CEA10 style, switching the unit off for three minutes lets it blow down, and powering it back on drains and refills it. A power light that stays off sends us to the breaker, fuse and transformer.
When an older steamer is worn out, we say so. You get a written price first and a 30-day warranty on our repair.

Scale, low gas pressure, low voltage or a tripped high limit are the usual causes. Confirm the water supply is on, then call us and we will test the sensors, the heat source and the limit.
Do you repair older Cleveland SteamCraft steamers?
Yes. Older SteamCraft and CET electric steamers are still in service and we repair them when the cabinet and boiler are sound. We tell you plainly when parts cost more than the steamer is worth.
Can you service Cleveland steam-jacketed kettles too?
Yes. We work on KEL electric, KGL gas and KDL direct steam kettles, stationary and tilting. Give us the model number from the kettle and we plan the parts before we arrive.
