FETCO Extractor Models We Cover
FETCO Extractor brewers are batch brewers that fill airpots and thermal servers in coffee shops, hotels and offices. The current Extractor Touch Screen line includes the CBS-2130 series, with 3-liter and 1-gallon airpot models, the CBS-2140 series, and the larger CBS-2150 series that brews 1.5 and 2 gallons at a time. Earlier CBS-2000 and CBS-2100 brewers, such as the CBS-2131 without the touch screen, are still working in many kitchens, and we repair those as well.
The XTS brewers print a numbered error on the screen, and that number gives us a starting point. Errors 100 and 101 are slow-fill problems, so we check the water filter, the supply valve and the inlet flow. Errors 050 and 051 point to the temperature probe or its connection. Error 201 sends us to the heater circuit, which includes the high-limit thermostat and the solid state relay. Error 255 usually means the touch screen was pressed too long.
Water Quality Matters
Hard water, common in Los Angeles, San Diego and Houston, leaves scale on the level probes. Very pure water, under 100 TDS, can confuse the lower level probe and bring up Error 107. For that case the brewer has a level sensitivity setting, and we adjust it. The brewers use electric heating elements, so we check the power supply and wiring too.
The brew basket lock-out is a built-in safety feature, and we never defeat it. If Insert Brew Basket stays on screen, we look at the switch, not at a workaround. The price is in writing before we start, and our work carries a 30-day warranty.

The tank did not refill within the allowed time. A clogged water filter, a closed supply valve or low water pressure are the usual causes, and we test the inlet valve and the probe as well.
My FETCO shows error 107. What now?
Error 107 can come from very pure water that the lower level probe does not read well. The brewer has a sensitivity setting for this, and we set it and test the probe.
Do you repair older FETCO brewers without the touch screen?
Yes. We work on the earlier CBS-2000 and CBS-2100 Extractor brewers as well as the XTS line. If a repair is not worth the cost, we say so plainly before starting.
