Frymaster M3000 Fryer Error Code E02: Remove Discard (Left)
REMOVE DISCARD (Left) on a Frymaster Gen II LOV fryer with the M3000 computer means a cook was started on the left side with a setpoint that differs from the current vat temperature. Remove and discard the product. It is the left-side twin of E01.
Low: an operator prompt; the fryer stays usable.
What does Frymaster REMOVE DISCARD mean?
On a fryer with a split vat, the M3000 computer tracks each side separately. When a cook is started on the left side while its setpoint differs from the current oil temperature in that side, the computer displays REMOVE DISCARD (Left) and logs E02. The manual describes it as the same condition as E01 on the other side. The computer does this because the quality of the product cannot be trusted: food started in oil that is not at the temperature the recipe calls for will be under- or over-cooked, so the safe response is to take it out and discard it. After that, you wait until the oil reaches the correct temperature and begin again. If the prompt keeps returning on the left side but not the right, the difference points to something specific to that side's temperature reading or heat recovery. Like the E01 message, this exists on the M3000 computer table and is not on the 3000/3010 controller.
Affected models and control systems
Gen II LOV fryers with the M3000 computer, BIELA14 series electric, with the same computer family on the BIGLA30 gas fryer. This code is in the M3000 error log only.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- REMOVE DISCARD (Left) on the computer
- Alarm after the cook is started on the left
- Left-side product cooked at the wrong oil temperature
- Right side working normally
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind REMOVE DISCARD on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A cook started on the left side with a setpoint different from the current vat temperature
- A left-side vat that did not finish heating or cooling to the new setpoint before the basket went in
- A left temperature probe that reads slowly or off
- A left-side heat recovery that is slower than the right
Safe checks before calling for service
- Take the product out and discard it, as the manual instructs.
- Wait until the left vat reaches the temperature of the product you will cook.
- Confirm that the setpoint shown matches the product on the left.
- Restart the cook and write down whether the left side gets the message again while the right never does.
How a technician diagnoses REMOVE DISCARD
- Read the error log and confirm which side the code belongs to.
- Compare the left probe reading with a calibrated thermometer in the oil.
- Compare the left and right side heating rates under the same load.
- Review the programmed setpoints for the left side.
- Check the left probe circuit and relay only if the readings or heating differ from the right side.
- Checking the probe against hot oil carries a burn risk that is not for an operator.
- Left-side heating relay and element tests are done on live wiring behind the panels.
- Setpoints and side configuration live in the computer's menus.
How REMOVE DISCARD differs from similar codes
E02 is the left-side message and E01 the right-side message; neither exists on the 3000/3010 controller.

Why only the left side?
The M3000 computer checks each side on its own. A left-only message suggests that vat's oil or probe, not the whole fryer.
Can I serve the product anyway?
No. The manual says to remove and discard it.
Will it clear on its own?
The prompt goes away once you act on it. If it keeps coming, the left side needs a heating or probe check.
