Nor-Lake LogiTemp Walk-In Alarm LHA: Low Humidity in the Box
LHA is the low humidity alarm for Nor-Lake LogiTemp walk-ins with KE2 Humidity Control. It says the air in the box is drier than its limit, though the temperature may be perfectly normal. Look at product for drying, cover open containers and keep the door closed.
Low: an alarm about product quality, with cooling still running normally.

What does Nor-Lake error code LHA mean?
Humidity control on a LogiTemp walk-in works toward a moisture target, and it alarms on both sides of it. LHA reports the dry side: the humidity board's sensor reads below the low limit. Dry air pulls moisture out of produce, flowers and uncovered food, leaving them limp or crusted. A strong coil airflow, long run times or a humidity output that is not working can cause it. A coil that runs cold and long dries the air as it condenses moisture out, which is the same effect that makes a freezer's air so dry. The temperature may be perfectly normal, so the walk-in looks fine on a thermometer while the product slowly suffers. The things to check are the humidity sensor reading, the humidity output or add-on that supplies moisture, the coil and airflow conditions, and the low humidity limit setting. Because the effect is on appearance and weight, LHA is usually found first by a cook or a produce handler, not by an alarm.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to Nor-Lake LogiTemp walk-in coolers and freezers equipped with KE2 Humidity Control.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- LHA on the display
- Wilted greens or dull surfaces
- Crusted edges on cut or uncovered food
- Box temperature normal
Possible causes
Listed in Nor-Lake's documentation
- Humidity sensor reading wrongly
- Humidity output or add-on not supplying moisture
- Strong coil airflow or long run times drying the air
- Low humidity limit set too high
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code LHA on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Humidifier water supply shut off or its reservoir empty
- Evaporator running very long because of a door that does not seal
- Sensor drifted dry with age, so the control never adds moisture
Safe checks before calling for service
- Look at product for drying, such as wilted greens, dull surfaces or crusted edges.
- Cover open containers and wrap cut produce.
- Read the box air with a thermometer as well.
- Keep the door closed as much as you can, then call us to schedule service if LHA keeps returning.
How a technician diagnoses error code LHA
- Read LHA and compare the humidity reading with a reference meter.
- Check that the humidity output or add-on is powered and supplied.
- Review coil and airflow conditions and run times.
- Check the low humidity limit setting against the stored product.
- Test the sensor and replace it only after the comparison.
- The humidity add-on involves water and electrical supply together.
- Reference readings need a calibrated humidity meter.
- Setting limits depends on the product stored and the system's design.
How error code LHA differs from similar codes
HHA is the opposite alarm for air that is too moist. LHA is about dryness.

Related Nor-Lake walk-in cooler & freezer error codes
Does LHA mean the box is too cold?
Not necessarily. Temperature can be fine while the air is dry.
How do I protect product meanwhile?
Cover or wrap items that dry out quickly.
Will LHA clear?
It clears when humidity returns above the limit. A repeat means a check of the humidity system.
